Case Study project: Enhancing Corema album reference genome annotation for comprehensive genomic insights

The white crowberry (Corema album) is a species included in the ERGA Pilot Project, with the objective of producing a high-quality reference genome. Currently, we have an assembled genome using Pac-Bio HiFi and Hi-C but we lack the annotation of this genome. From a conservation perspective, coastal dune systems are deemed natural habitats of high conservation value, particularly concerning vegetation. A high-quality reference genome for an endemic species from these habitats will open the door to future studies on conservation of dune ecosystems.
